  • StoryCorps South Texas

StoryCorps South Texas presents the oral histories of our community. Recorded at the StoryCorps mobile booth, each story is archived at the Library of Congress, and select interviews are broadcast on TPR News stations. StoryCorps visited San Antonio in February 2018 to record stories for its Military Voices Initiative.

I selected, edited, and voiced the weekly “StoryCorps South Texas” featured stories for web and radio distribution on this project.

  • TPR Takes On: Fiesta

This program answers the questions about what to eat, drink, wear, and do during Fiesta San Antonio. Your hosts are Asia Ciarvino, local arts advocate, actress, and president and CEO of SA Youth, and Angela McClendon Johnson, a marketing and public relations professional and former Fiesta queen.

On this project, I conducted academic research on the history of Fiesta San Antonio, pitched each podcast topic to executives at Texas Public Radio, drafted podcast outlines for eight different 20-30 minute episodes, revised eight scripts for podcast hosts, and interviewed various historical experts on the related Fiesta topics.

  • B40 Interviews

In-studio sessions from the Back 40 of the TPR offices featuring audio, video, and interviews with the performers. We feature the diverse sounds of South Texas!

On this project, I booked bands to perform in the studio, conducted research, wrote questions, and interviewed each musical act for Texas Public Radio's B40 series. In addition to conducting and editing each band interview, I filmed and edited video footage for online packages on TPR’s YouTube channel and website.

B40: BAND PERFORMANCES

In-studio sessions from the Back 40 of the TPR offices feature audio, video, and interviews with the performers. In this video series, I booked the six musical acts that were performed during the summer of 2018. In addition to booking the bands, I filmed and edited the video footage for web and social media distribution.

While I was Texas Public Radio’s 2018 Summer Arts Intern, I had the privilege to work creatively on many different projects. I created weekly StoryCorps South Texas audio segments and stories for web and radio distribution in addition to producing the B40 series that featured audio, video, and interviews with various South Texas musicians.
